Harvard Professor Teaches Educational Leadership in Bahrain
On October 19, approximately 100 vice-principals and other Bahraini educators at the Bahrain Teachers College (BTC) participated in a training program focusing on educational leadership conducted by U.S. Speaker Dr. Janice Jackson. Dr. Jackson also conducted a executive seminar on educational leadership for officials from the Educational Reform Department at the Economic Development Board (EDB) and Ministry of Education officials.
Dr. Jackson's visit to the BTC and EDB were organized by the U.S. Embassy in conjunction with her presentation during the Education Project conference sponsored by Crown Prince Shaikh Salman bin Hamad
Al-Khalifa.
Dr. Janice Jackson is a lecturer in Educational Leadership and Organizations at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is the Senior Associate on the Wallace funded Executive Leadership Program for Educators. Prior to entering higher education, Dr. Jackson served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Elementary and Secondary School at the U.S. Department of Education and as the Deputy Superintendent for Boston Public Schools.
