Interview with the Consular Officer
On interview day, please begin at the farthest window from the door. There you will submit your application and pay your application fee. Then you must wait until you are called for your interview. The wait may be long, so it is advisable to bring reading material. If you are requested to complete additional forms, fill out every question and keep the forms with you until your interview. Incomplete forms will significantly delay visa processing.
When you are called for your interview, please give the Consular Officer your receipt and any additional forms you completed. The Officer will take your fingerprints, speak with you about your intended travel, and review any additional documents you would like to present.
At the end of your interview, the Consular Officer will tell you that your application is:
- Approved;
- Pending, contingent on you providing additional information;
- Pending, contingent on administrative processing; or
- Refused.
We advise that you do not make any non-refundable travel arrangements until the visa has been issued in your passport.
