Women2Women Pre-departure Orientation

On July 1^st , Deputy Public Affairs Officer Shana Kieran met with Bahraini high school female students participating in the Empower Peace: Women2Women (W2W) conference in the United States , from July 7-15, 2012. 

During the pre-departure orientation, the students were encouraged to actively engage in the program, to immerse themselves in U.S. culture and society, and to engage with their American peers. 

Women2Women is an annual global leadership conference for young women in Boston, Massachusetts.  Wheelock College, Harvard University and the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University have developed the conference curriculum.  Participants will attend classes and workshops focused on leadership, negotiation and media throughout the seven-day program.
