Chargé d’Affaires Meets with NESA Undergraduate Students

U.S. Chargé d'Affaires Chris Henzel met with seven Bahraini students participating in the NESA undergraduate exchange program on July 22, 2008.  The program provides full scholarships for outstanding Bahraini students for one semester or one academic year of non-degree, undergraduate study in the United States at accredited two and four-year higher education institutions. The seven will participate in undergraduate programs at universities throughout the U.S. including; Greenville Technical College, Iowa Western Community College, Northcentral Technical College, SUNY Cobleskill, and the University of Idaho. The goal of this program is to increase mutual understanding between young emerging leaders from the region and the citizens of the United States by providing a meaningful academic and cultural experience at U.S. educational institutions. The immersion experience on American campuses is designed to provide participants with a first-hand perspective on American life, build lasting bonds of friendship, and promote constructive relations between the people of the United States and Bahrain.

This program is sponsored by the Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.  If you are interested in participating in the Fulbright or other U.S. government exchange programs, please visit Bahrain Exchange Programs.
