Chargé d'Affaires hosts Bahraini YES students
U.S. Embassy Chargé d'Affaires and Mrs. Christopher Henzel hosted a reception at their residence on Tuesday June 24, 2008 for the second Bahraini Youth Exchange and Study Program (YES) cohort. YES is a U.S.-sponsored cultural exchange program that encourages the exchange of ideas, values, and experiences among young people throughout the world. The program sends secondary students from throughout the region to the U.S. for one year of study. YES seeks to broaden cultural awareness and appreciation between the U.S. and Bahrain. During the 2008-2009 academic year seventeen Bahraini students will participate in the program, living with American host families. During their experience students will participate in a variety of enrichment activities including community service and youth leadership activities, civics education, and other activities designed to give students a well-rounded perspective of the U.S. culture and values.
