Sharing Models of Leadership

Embassy Manama invited speakers Kay Westerfield, International Business Communications program coordinator, University of Oregon and Kathy Holland, Specialist in Development and Launching of New Products, to hold a one-day workshop ‘Sharing Models of Leadership’ for the Bahrain Businesswomen Society (BBWS). The workshop was attended by 38 Bahraini businesswomen and young Business Studies graduates. Businesswoman and BBWS founding member Mona Al Moayyed and US Press and Cultural Attaché Mario Crifo gave the opening remarks to welcome the speakers and briefly outline the aims of this workshop.

The workshop discussed three modules: What is Leadership? Tools for Leadership: Self Awareness and Professional Communications Skills. The objective of the event is to empower Bahraini women to be proactive and leading in decision-making professionals, in particular in the business field, in addition to develop entrepreneurial skills.

Following the workshop, a certificates ceremony was held at the Coral Beach Club, attended by the BBWS President Shaikha Aysha bint Ali Al Khalifa, BBWS members, Deputy Chief of Mission Dr. Susan Ziadeh and the participants. Dr. Ziadeh gave a speech praising the efforts of BBWS “for hosting this event and for the fine work you do with the Women’s Gateway, providing expansive networking opportunities to Bahrain’s professional women in business”.

Bahrain Television and the local press were invited to cover the event and interview the speakers as well as the participants.
