Georgetown University Basketball Players

The U.S. Department of State proudly presents the Cultural Envoy Program. This program aims to utilize the talents of average Americans to engage with young people around the globe.

As part of the Cultural Envoy Program Georgetown University students Mr.Courtland Freeman and Mr. Omari Faulkner will be visiting Bahrain on November 30-December 1, 2004. The two Georgetown graduating seniors completed four years of inter-collegiate, Division I NCAA basketball. These two students and basketball players will serve as the Embassy’s Cultural Envoys for sports in a program focused on using basketball to illustrate some of the positive aspects of American culture including teamwork, free expression and hard work. Courtland and Omari will develop and run basketball clinics and participate in games at secondary schools, universities, and sports clubs throughout Bahrain. They will also give presentations about sports, education, and cultural issues in America.
