Bahraini University Students Participate in Leadership Training in the U.S.
During the summer, nine Bahraini university students spent six weeks in the U.S. developing their leadership skills at the MEPI Summer Institute for Student Leaders. The program brought together students leaders from throughout the Middle East for an intensive training program followed by travel in the U.S. The Bahraini students called the experience, “life changing.”
Aysha Al Araifi, a 19 year old student at the Royal University for Women spent the summer at Montana State University and commented that she was surprised by Americans. According to Aysha, “Americans are so friendly and the program made me realize that Americans do not hate Muslims. They want to learn more about us.”
This was the fourth group of Bahraini students to participate in this annual program at American university campuses including Georgetown University in Washington, DC, Benedictine University in Illinois, Montana State University in Montana, Dickinson College in Pennsylvania and the University of Delaware.
