US Ambassador Honors Embassy Scholarship Nominees
The US Ambassador William T Monroe honored over 40 nominees of prestigious U.S. funded scholarship in a reception at the American Embassy. Joined by the teachers and parents of many of the nominees, the Ambassador congratulated them on their achievement and success. “These talented nominees represent the brightest students in the kingdom, the best that Bahrain has to offer,” said Ambassador Monroe in his remarks. “I am impressed with their talent and potential, and I wish them the very best in their studies in the United States.”
Embassy Educational Advisor Samar Hasan commented on the growth of American scholarships and education programs over the last year. “This year we had a 270% increase in our Fulbright Graduate applications and more than tripled the number of PLUS applicants,” she said. “Also we received more than 120 applications for MEPI Summer Leadership Institutes. This shows that Bahraini students see the United States as a top location to study and learn.”
